Two-shots save drill with David Harte!
This drill, presented by the 2015 and 2016 FIH Goalkeeper of the Year, David Harte, is one of the most demanding drills that you will find out there. In this exercise we can see how he sets his focus on making a double save. The first step is to quickly shift sides and make a clear on the opposite position of where the goalkeeper is orginally located.
The second step is to make the second save by calculating the speed of the shot and bounce. The “panels” you see placed on the floor are bouncing mats that at the time of contact with the hockey ball they cause it to change direction unpredictably, forcing the goalie’s quick reaction.
