This is perhaps, the most controversial hockey ad ever…
This TV commercial was a risky campaign promoted by Argentina during the training process for the 2012 London Olympic Games. The athlete show here is Fernando Zylberberg who, back then, was a member of the Argentinean Hockey Team. The controversial aspect of the ad is that the focus goes back to the Malvinas-Falkland Island war of 1982 with a strong and controversial message:
The captions read:
“To compete in English soil, we train in Argentinean soil. Tribute to soldiers and ex-soldiers of the Malvinas War.”
This ad raised a lot of negative criticism quoting that it was using a controversial and sensitive matter and tagging it to sports.
