Starting a hockey game with a faceoff run for the ball instead of the coin toss to decide who moves first?

Our friend Mina Swart from South Africa uploaded this one. We see here the start of a match where instead of having a coin toss to decide who moves the ball first, they had two different ideas.
Here we see a faceoff battle between goalies, we guess that who ends up with the ball possession starts the game!

I doubt the FIH ever used this idea, but it seems fun …
