Pedro Ibarra: avoiding danger with defensive deflection inside the circle
In this game between Argentina and Spain, just before Rio 2016, we can watch Argentina’s defender Pedro Ibarra, using a defensive deflection between his feet in order to avoid danger. As you can see, he put himself inline with the ball and just made a simple touch between his legs which allowed him to clear the ball on the backline. This is a very useful skill when defending the circle:
