Full training session (4 drills): Open receiving with forehand and backhand

Exercise 2: Reverse and open reception with forehand

Purpose: ​To improve the reverse and open reception with forehand.

Organisation:
1) Place 4 cones near the 23m-line; ca. 10m. behind a double cone where the balls are gathered.
2) Left side in front of the cones with balls another cone.
3) Divide the players over the two stations.

Exercise:
1) Player A dribbles the ball forward; just in front of the cones he makes a reverse.
2) Player A plays the ball back to player B.
3) Player A runs deep towards the goal and receives the ball from player B; A receives the ball with the forehand.
4) Player A dribbles to the circle and finishes on goal. Rotation: A to B -> B to A.

Instructions:
1) ​Open reception with the forehand.
2) Left shoulder directed in the first instant toward passer.
3) Allow the ball to roll past the body with the left shoulder turning, allowing the back to now face the passer
receive the ball left of and in front of body, but not too close (in tight).
4) Lower hand turns stick to face the ball.
