Hockey fail: how did this stick end up here?

Take a look at this weird action that happened a few years ago during a game between Oranje Zwart and Rotterdam. After an offensive manoeuvre while making an overlap on he left side, the Rotterdam player went to make a pass but his stick slipped from his hand and ended up hanging by the fence!
