This was the 34th edition of the this hockey tournament which saw the local team, Australia, beating the Netherlands by 2 to 1 in the final. This clip shows the intensity, suspense and thrill of the Kookaburras’ victory which, back then, extended their Champions’ Trophy winning streak up to 5 consecutive victories.
The goals were scored by Russell Ford and by Kieran Govers for Australia, while Sander Baart scored for the Netherlands. In this same tournament, the Dutch goalkeeper Jaap Stockmann was selected as the best goalkeeper. The final ranking saw Australia on top, followed by the Netherlands, Pakistan, India, Belgium, Germany, New Zealand and finally, England.
