Delfina Merino’s power: 5 Forehand and reverse shots!
Delfina Merino started playing hockey at the age of 5 when her parents took her to play Banco Provincia, in Buenos Aires. She became local champion in 2015, first time in history for her club. She has been part of the Argentina National Hockey Team 2009 when she was called by coach Gabriel Minadeo, to be part of senior team. She was also a main player of the team that won first place in the FIH World Cup 2010 in Rosario.
Delfina Merino is one of the forwards that scored most goals for her national team obtaining five Champions Trophy (2009, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016), two silver medals at the Pan American Games (2011 and 2015), a 3rd place in the 2014 FIH Hockey World Cup and the silver medal at the 2012 Olympics in London.

Delfina Merino said that she is proud of representing the Argentinian hockey team and being able to play at the international level, is one of her favorite things. She has been in love with hockey from an early age and that since the Argentine national team began calling themselves Las Leonas, she began to dream of being part of this team.
Before the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London, Delfina Merino was one of the youngest players in the team which signified a very special event because it would mean her Olympic debut. Today, already turned into one of the most experienced ones, she hopes to inspire confidence to the younger players of the team.
