Flick Hockey Master, the powerful drag by Chris Ciriello
Flick hockey master Chris Ciriello was born on October 1st, 1985, in Victoria, Australia. His international debut with the Kookaburras took place on January 2008 and between his main awards, he was able to win the 2014 FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup, the 2016 FIH World League, the gold medal at the 2010 Champions Trophy and a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
Chris Ciriello is a drag flick master who has won the 2014 Hockey World Cup with the Australian team. His shots in general are powerful and directed to the bottom of the goal instead of to the top. In addition, he generally shots to spots that are within the reach of the goalkeepers but they cannot stop them anyways. The power that he inserts into the Kookaburra’s short corner had contributed to the success of the team.

In 2014, Ciriello truly showed why he should be consider a flick hockey master as he scored a two sets of 3 goals at the 2014 World Cup in The Hague and at the Commonwealth Games finals. In 2016, Australia won the Champions Trophy in London but unfortunately,Chris Ciriello was injured for the final match where the Kookaburras defeated India on shootouts. At the 2014 FIH World Cup, he was the top-scorer of the Australian team, the World Champions.
He played more than 150 international matches scoring more than 100 goals. At club level, he played for Doncaster Hockey Club in Melbourne and for Curtin Trinity Pirates in Perth. At the Australia Hockey League, he represents Victoria.
