1. Know what you are talking about and be precise
Field hockey is a complex sport, and if your don’t know what you are talking about, you will be exposed. A common mistake is when a coach is not well informed and/or over explains his ideas. When a coach goes over and over on the same point but with different words, he or she, can get the team to a state of confusion and lethargy. In addition, when a coach does not know what he is talking about… the will players know. Stick to what you know and explain it in the easiest and clearest way possible.
