After 32 years, Kampong SV conquers the Hoofdklasse and becomes the Dutch Champion!
Over this past weekend, Kampong SV was able to defeat HC Rotterdam and stop a 32 years curse of not winning the Hofdklasse. The last time that Kampong was the Dutch hockey champions was back in 1985. Irish keeper David Harte, Constantijn Jonker, Quirijn Caspers led the white and blue team to this historical conquest.
The game against Rotterdam ended in a draw with 2 goals per team (‘1 Bjorn Kellerman, ‘7 Seve of Ass,’38 Constantijn Jonker, Jeroen Hertzberger 2-2). At the shootouts, Kampong was able to edge Rotterdam by winning 4-3, thus becoming the 2017 champion!
